A 55-year-old woman from Mzilikazi suburb in Bulawayo is looking for the father of her 35-year-old son whom she last saw 30 years ago.

Ms Elina Dube said she was involved in a relationship with Mr Lovemore Kaseke Ncube and they had a child, Givemore Dube, who is now 35.

The two were not staying together but continued seeing each other until Mr Ncube disappeared sometime in 1982.

Mr Ncube is suspected to be originally from Murehwa in Mashonaland East Province.

In an interview on Friday, Ms Dube said she had been looking for Mr Ncube for a long time with no success.

She said her son had personal problems, which needed the attention of his father, but she was failing to locate him.

"I last saw my son's father, Mr Ncube when he was staying in Luveve in 1982. At that time his uncle Mr Thomas Mhandu had secured a job for him at Manwele Beer Garden.

He then moved to Dairibord while he was staying in Luveve but later disappeared.

"In 1994 I received information that he was working at Crystal Sweets in Harare but did not have the money to visit him. I only know that he is from Murehwa but I have never been there. I have not met his relatives and I do not know where to find them," said Ms Dube, who could not be drawn to disclose the nature of her son's problems.

She appealed to members of the public or Mr Ncube's relatives to assist her with information that could lead to the whereabouts of Mr Ncube.

"My son has been having problems, which we feel need his father's attention. We have been looking for his father for a long time now.

"I would like to appeal to members of the public who might have information of his where abouts to assist us for the sake of my son. I believe that his problems would be solved if he meets his father," said Ms Dube.

She said those with information could contact her or Mr Dube at House Number V18 Mzilikazi or call 0774 673 737 or 0775 900 844.
