Zimbabwe remembers Dr Joshua Nkomo

Beneficiaries of the Joshua Nkomo Scholarship Fund have praised the works of the late Father Zimbabwe who was passionate about empowering the country's citizens.
As the country celebrates the life of the late Vice President students who benefitted under the scholarship fund set up in his name have paid tribute to the initiative and the legacy left by Father Zimbabwe.
The beneficiaries said Dr Nkomo's values are being pushed forward through empowering under-privileged students.
One of the beneficiaries, Ms Chiedza Dziva said the late Vice President had leadership qualities which are now being instilled into students who enrol through his scholarship, thus ensuring his legacy lives on.
Another beneficiary, Mandlenkosi Moyo said the scholarship fund has been moulded in the values that the late Vice President was spearheading for the development of the nation.
The Joshua Nkomo Scholarship Fund was formed four years ago.
Among the scholarship's objectives was to champion the desire of the late Dr Nkomo of having educated citizens.
The scholarship is anticipated to attract more students in future thus maintaining the legacy left behind by Dr Nkomo who died on the first of July 1999.
