A Bulawayo's Makokoba woman is up in arms against her neighbours whom she accused of bewitching her with her Namibian Juju. As a shield against the alleged black magic practicies she is reportedly using 'holy waters' prepared by her church leader.

The black magic accusations were precipitated after the woman Sibekiwe Mpofu (39) of No. 2206, 1st Street suffered a stroke which disfigured her face and left her left hand experiencing excruciating pains. It is reported that Mpofu who belongs to one of the Apostolic sects while sprinkling the prescribed 'holy waters' around the house was shouting the name of her church leader.

As a fight back against the holy waters, Energy Ndlovu who is accused of practicing witchcraft also speckled coarse salt around her house shouting, "Fire fire holy ghost". In a desperate bid to smoke peace pipe with her neighbour, Ndlovu reported the matter to the police leading to the neighbour's arrest. Mpofu was brought before Bulawayo magistrate Miss Evelyne Masvavakure charged with a crime of indicating witches and wizards.

Allegations as presented by the prosecutor are that sometime this year, at around 6am, Ndlovu was in her house when she heard Mpofu shouting and yelling profanities directed at her. She reportedly labeled her a witch who was salivating her flesh. In her vitriolic attack she reportedly repeated the words "I narrowly cheated death after Ndlovu bewitched me on my hand".

The court heard that the following day the complainant again saw the accused person sprinkling some water which she claimed were from her church leader whose name she was shouting. Fearing for her dear life, the complainant is alleged to have also retaliated by putting course salt around her house shouting "Fire, fire holy ghost!"

Seeing that her efforts were in vain the self styled saint Ndlovu reportedly asked Mpofu three times, perhaps living true to the sacred Biblical number whether she can prove her claims that she was a witch. The alleged fearless Mpofu without mincing her words labeled Ndlovu a 'seriel witch' who was using juju which she imported from Namibia.

Ndlovu who failed to digest the accusations reported the matter to the police leading to Mpofu's arrest. Mpofu was not formally charged and will appear in court again for trial.
