MDC-T president Morgan Tsvangirai will on Friday preside over his party's Bulawayo Provincial Assembly meeting in a bid to address challenges in the structures resulting in 84 members defecting to the Welshman Ncube led formation.
Tsvangirai has been in Matabeleland since Wednesday where he officially launched the Rural Water and Sanitation Hygene (WASH) in Tsholotsho and commissioned the Lupane-Bubi Dam the following day.
Two weeks ago, 84 members from MDC-T deputy president Thokozani Khuphe's Makokoba constituency defected to Ncube's formation citing abuse and that the legislator was working with Zanu-PF.
Khuphe immediately dismissed the defectors saying they were not part of her structures but Tsvangirai was reportedly not convinced.
The two held a meeting last week to discuss the defections but Khuphe would not reveal to journalists the exact contents of the meeting.
Factionalism has rocked the MDC-T Bulawayo structures leading to the splinting of the party into two factions, one led by Matson Hlalo and another by Khuphe.
