MDC-T is set to escalate its purge on errant party members this week after Bulawayo East legislator Tabitha Khumalo was last week fired as deputy spokesperson.
Several senior party officials confirmed yesterday that a crackdown was looming and that their heads would roll. The crackdown which saw deputy spokesperson Tabitha Khumalo being demoted is now targeting Eddie Cross MP Bulawayo South, Sithembile Mlotshwa (Matobo Senator) and Morgan Femai (Chikomo Senator).
The trio allegedly incensed the party leadership over their recent sexist statements in public meeting.
Tabitha called for legalisation of prostitution, Mlosthwa called for man to be immobilised and have sex once a month while Femai said women should shave off their hair so as to be unattractive as that would reduce spread of HIV.
