NUST taps runs dry

National University of Science and Technology in Bulawayo has run dry after a main water pipe burst forcing the institution to send workers back home.
Spokesperson Felix Moyo said the main feeder pipe burst at the weekend.
"We have not closed but we have sent some of the workers in other sections of the university away.
"This has been a result of a pipe burst. It is a health hazard to have about 1 200 workers sharing a few water facilities and toilets," said Moyo.
Moyo said the university was built in a way that the main feeder pipe connects to all the areas, so if it burst some parts of the institution would not be having water supplies.
By Tuesday evening plumbers were busy trying to rectify the problem.
