In a strange tale of events, two self confessed witches from Bulawayo's Iminyela suburb were involved in a fierce fight over the love of a man whom they both said is a wizard.

The two women reportedly fell in love with the alleged wizard during their expeditions dating back to early 90s but the group split in 2008 as a result of jealousy between the women. The fight has spilled into the courts after the former witchcraft partners, Maggie Ncube (62) and Lizah Sibanda (68) could not come to a civilized agreement.

A source said Ncube and Sibanda have been trying to outwit each other in winning over the heart of their bewitching sojourns male partner, identified as Nkosilathi Zondo from the time they parted ways.

"Those old women are crazy surely how can at their age be fighting for a man? Sometime in April a meeting of the residents association was called after they fought in the street. What message were they sending to younger people especially considering their age?" said the source.

The two women who are aged 62 and 68 respectively have reportedly been fighting for a man who is in his late 70s. The source said during the meeting no consensus was reached as community elders were afraid of reprimanding the two.

"Everyone was afraid. The elders only asked them not to fight in public and came short of asking them about the root cause of the fight although everyone knew the background of their brawl. The two agreed to seize fire and have been living in harmony since then," said the source.

However, all hell broke loose on Thursday last week. Sibanda is alleged to have, on the day, taken her jealousy to another level and pounded her rival after coming across her walking with Zondo. She was arrested and dragged to court where she bared it all.

"The three of us used to bewitch people and we both fell in love with Zondo. I want him for myself and will not share him even though Khoza and I used to share juju that we would bewitch people with," said Sibanda leaving Western Commonage magistrate, Mr Richard Ramaboea in a moment of shock.

Ncube CONFIRMED that she used to be Sibanda's partner.

"I don't deny what she said but I love Zondo too," said Ncube.

In an interview at her home, Khoza said her life has been a living hell.

"That woman is poisonous. She had no respect for anyone. She insulted me last week and called me all sorts of names that I cannot even say," she said.

The man's whereabouts are unknown as he has reportedly gone into hibernation. Meanwhile, Sibanda was remanded in custody to 7 August after she failed to pay US$50 bail.
