Troubled Tsvangirai runs to King Mswati

FRUSTRATED Morgan Tsvangirai yesterday met His Majesty King Mswati III for private talks.
Tsvangirai hit Swazi soil at 11:20 am in a private jet through the Matsapha International Airport.
The Zimbabwean PM was accompanied by Minister of State in Prime Minister's office Jameson Timba among others. He is said to be in the country to brief His Majesty about the situation in Zimbabwe and developments within the coalition government headed by President Robert Mugabe.
Further details of the visit could not be ascertained, but it is worth noting that that country is currently preparing to go to the polls. It is expected that a press briefing would be held today upon completion of Tsvangirai's visit.
He proceeds to South Africa today.
Swazi Observer spoke to one of the officials travelling with Tsvangirai.
He confirmed that the premier was in the country to among other things discuss the issues of the coalition and incidents of violence taking place in Zimbabwe.
"The coalition and violence in Zimbabwe has even led to the arrest of Minister Eraton Mangoma," he said.
He added that Tsvangirai decided to have a private meeting with the King before the Troika Summit that would be held in Zambia this month.
"He is here to brief His Majesty about what is currently happening in Zimbabwe, in as far as the state of affairs is concerned," said the official.
He added that the road-map in Zimbabwe suggested that they should be getting ready for the next elections.
"What is currently happening in Zimbabwe does not paint a good picture of the forth coming elections in the country," he said.
