Nust acquires broadcasting equipment

NATIONAL University of Science and Technology (Nust) has acquired a full set of broadcasting equipment worth $25 000 for its Journalism and Media Studies department.

The equipment was funded by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco).

Nust director of information and public relations, Mr Felix Moyo, confirmed the development and said installation of the equipment is in progress.

"The Journalism and Media Studies department made the quotation for the brand new broadcasting equipment and Unesco funded the project.

"The broadcasting studio will have a radius of 5km. The department of Journalism and Media Studies will use it for learning purposes.

"The university is also likely to benefit from the studio as it will make it easy to disseminate information to the Nust community," said Mr Moyo.

He said the institution was grateful and delighted to be in the process of owning a studio.

"A tour of the broadcasting studio will be done once it is commissioned," said Mr Moyo.

The studio Will enable Journalism and Media Studies students to undertake practicals at the university.
