A TWENTY YEAR OLD lady who delivered an offensive verbal message to her long-time friend during a telephone conversation has appeared in court.
Thubelihle Sibanda of .25 Harrow Queens Park West, who is to have been on the verge of snatching away the complainant's husband, only identified as Godfrey, invited treble for herself when she failed to control her loose tongue.
Prosecuting, Ms Memory Rabson, told the court that sometime in August last year, Sibanda phoned her friend, Ivon Hara, who; is the complainant in this case, in a usual general conversation since they are long time friend.
Ms Rabson said that the conversation between the two later turned nasty when Judu suspected that her best friend was about to make "love" moves to her husband, prompting her to ask about the issue.
It is then that uncomfortable Sibanda without censoring her words verbally insulted her.
Feeling looked down upon and challenged in a way, the complainant then made a report to the police, a development that led to Sibanda's arrest.
When Sibanda was brought before Ms Nonkululeko Mkhondo for contravention of a section of the Posts and Telecommunication Services Act Chapter 12.02 she pleaded guilty to the charges.
Asked why she had committed such a crime, she had this to say: "I wanted the complainant to leave me alone and solve the issue with Godfrey, her husband."
However, she was lucky to evade jail time when Ms Mkhondo cautioned and discharged her.
