A Bulawayo woman and her boyfriend have been sentenced to a combined sentence of 20 years imprisonment for forcing the woman's seven-year-old daughter to watch them while being intimate and thereafter suck their privates.
The woman aged 28, started an extra-marital affair with the boyfriend aged 32 when her husband was jailed for three years in 2010.
She later moved in with the boyfriend.
The two were jointly charged with indecent assault and aggravated indecent assault when they appeared before senior Western Division regional magistrate Mr Owen Tagu.
Although the woman and her boyfriend pleaded not guilty to the charges, they were convicted on one count each due to overwhelming evidence.
The boyfriend was found guilty of aggravated indecent assault and sentenced to 18 years while the girl's mother was found guilty of indecent assault and sentenced to an effective two years in jail.
The boyfriend will however serve an effective 14 years imprisonment after Mr Tagu suspended four years of the sentence for five years on condition of good behaviour.
During the period ranging from January to April last year, the woman and her boyfriend were intimate on several occasions and each time they were intimate, they would order the girl who was seven years old then, to watch them.
On one of the occasions, the woman, who had just finished being intimate with the boyfriend, ordered her daughter to lick her womanhood and she complied.
The woman and her boyfriend also ordered the little girl to suck the boyfriend's manhood and she again complied.
The matter came to light when the girl's father was released from prison and went to the police to make a report that his daughter and wife were missing after he found the house deserted with a note from the wife.
The girl narrated her ordeal to the police after her father located her and the mother.
The woman and her boyfriend were then arrested.
In her defence, the woman said her husband had influenced the girl to fabricate the charges to fix her because she had married another man.
Mr Admire Chikwayi prosecuted.
