Bulawayo man gets 18 years for robbery

A man from Kensington in Bulawayo was recently sentenced to 18 months in jail for robbing a nightclub reveller of cash and a cellphone, all valued at US$277.
Chenjerai Nhamo Nyathi (31) pleaded guilty to a robbery charge when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate, Charity Maphosa a fortnight ago.
He was convicted and sentenced to 18 months in jail.
Six months were suspended for five years on condition he restituted the complainant, Rhodes Fundira (45), of Gwabalanda suburb, the sum of US$277.
