Madinda Ndlovu, the former Highlanders and Warriors winger, was
involved in a horrific road accident today (Thursday 7 March) in the early hours in Botswana where he is coaching Mochudi Centre Chiefs, a close family source has
revealed.
The accident took place 40 km from Mahalapye along Gaborone road. The Mercedes Benz was reduced into wreckage, however, Ndlovu escaped unscathed with minor bruises.
Ndlovu is alleged to have rammed into a black cow which was in the middle of the road. The Merc he was driving then skidded off the road and overturned.
"He is shocked but is fine and talking well. He is a very strong character," said the source.
Ndlovu was travelling from Gaborone to Bulawayo.
"The accident happened at about 2am this morning. He saw a white cow on his right which had just crossed the road, suddenly within the blink of an eye there was a black cow in front of him right in the centre of the road," a family source said.
"He then rammed into the black cow resulting in the horrific accident. As I speak to you right now he is still on the road side waiting for rescue and recovery," said the source.
Over the last weekend, Ndlovu and his Mochudi Centre Chiefs had a fruitful outing in the Caf Champions League preliminary round.
Madinda saw his charges beat Maxaquene of Mozambique 1-0 at home to win 2-0 on aggregate after posting a one-goal victory two weeks ago in Maputo.
