Entumbane man hangs self, sets house on fire

IN A suspected case of suicide, a man from Entumbane suburb in Bulawayo, who had been left with his 10-month-old baby, is believed to have set his rented house on fire before hanging himself on Saturday afternoon.
Neighbours quickly intervened and broke the door to rescue the baby from the raging inferno.
Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Mandlenkosi Moyo confirmed the incident and said police were still investigating the tragedy.
"We are investigating a case whereby a body of a man was found in a burning house in Entumbane high-density suburb," said Moyo without elaborating.
However, sources said the man had a dispute with his wife which might have led him to commit suicide. "The young man was having a misunderstanding with his wife over taking their young child to her parents' home on that day," said a source."
"The wife ended up going alone leaving her husband and their child in the house.
"It is believed the man locked himself and the child in the house and set the house alight before hanging himself from the roof of the house."
