WORKERS at Lobengula Spar in Bulawayo's New Lobengula suburb have resorted to sleeping in the shop as a way of forcing their employer to pay them their outstanding salaries.
The workers are accusing their employer, only identified as MaNkomo of being insensitive to their plight.
Workers who requested anonymity said their employer was not paying them on time and at times they are given half of their salaries.
The workers said they are supposed to- be paid $150 per month.
The workers also complained that at times they are given groceries as payment.
"We are working for groceries as the employer is failing to pay us. At times we are given groceries. We are now tired of this, at times we choose to sleep in the shop as a way of forcing the employer to pay us our salaries," said one of the workers.
Contacted for comment, MaNkomo denied that her workers at times slept in the shop.
"I know nothing about the issue and I don't have any arrears with my workers. Who told you that false story?" said MaNkomo.
