THERE was mayhem at a house in Emganwini after a man allegedly stabbed his wife while they were fighting over a photo that the former had misplaced. The alleged incident occurred on 5 April.
It is said that on the day Thobekile Ncube got home from her errands at about 4pm and found her husband having feasted on some of her food.
That did not go down well with her.
She reportedly demanded that her husband should respect her.
After a while, the two got to the same footing and all became rosy. It is said that moments later, Ncube asked her husband, Castrol Ndlovu, to give her a photo that he had taken earlier.
Ndlovu then looked for the photo but could not locate it.
A misunderstanding arose thereafter.
It is reported that Ncube went on to order her husband to give her one of his photos as compensation.
He, however, refused.
Ncube then forcibly took the photo.
The man had none of it and got hold of a pot before landing it on the woman's back.
The blow was too much to handle for Ncube and she screamed in agony before bolting out of the house.
Ndlovu followed her and allegedly stabbed her on the left arm with a sharp object.
With blood gushing out, the woman was taken to hospital where she was treated and discharged.
She then sought accommodation at a relative's house.
Three days later Ncube went to collect her belongings from her matrimonial home.
The man refused her to do so and allegedly bashed her once again.
She then made a report to the police.
Ndlovu was nabbed and dragged to the dock to answer to two charges of physical abuse.
He appeared before provincial magistrate Mr Willard Maphios Moyo who remanded him to 19 April.
