A 33-YEAR-old Bulawayo woman went berserk and smashed a windscreen of his boyfriend's car before cutting the man's entire wardrobe into pieces following a dispute over missing money.
Sikhululekile Ndlovu of House Number 30593 Entumbane suburb pleaded not guilty to contravening section 3(1) as read with 4(1) of the Domestic Violence, Chapter 5:16 (malicious damage to property) when she appeared before West Commonage magistrate, Mr Wilfred Mafhios Moyo.
She was remanded out of custody to 4 June on her own cognisance for continuation of trial.
The prosecutor, Ms Ruvimbo Chanduru said on 27 May at about 1.35pm, the complainant and Ndlovu were at the accused's home in Entumbane when an altercation ensued over missing money. Ndlovu accused her boyfriend, Mr Manuel Moyo (40) of stealing her $20 and R200.
The court heard that while in the process of arguing, Ndlovu went outside the house where Moyo's car was parked. She picked up an iron bar and smashed the windscreen of the car.
As if that was not enough, Ndlovu allegedly went back to the house where she removed all clothes belonging to the complainant, which were kept at the couple's wardrobe and cut them into strips.
Moyo reported the matter to the police leading to Ndlovu's arrest.
