Soneni Chitsvare (31) of Njube suburb in Bulawayo was on Friday ordered to pay $100 or face 60 days in jail after pleading guilty to contravening the Communication Act by sending an offensive text message to his boyfriend's mistress.
Chitsvare sent abusive messages via her cellphone to her lover's former girlfriend.
Chitsvare pleaded guilty to the contravention of the Communications Act when she appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Takundwa Witness Mtetwa.
The court heard that on December 13 last year, Chitsvare sent an unprintable offensive message using her boyfriend's number to his former girlfriend Caroline Dube.
On the same day Chitsvare also called Dube using the same number insulting her. She told Dube: "Your**s, leave Raffy because I am pregnant for him (sic), so I am now his wife."
Dube reported the matter to the police leading to Chitsveare's arrest.
