The role played by the late Vice President, Dr Joshua Nkomo has been revisited with the launch of an autobiography on the late nationalist.
In a speech read on his behalf at the launch, Guest of Honour Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo applauded the life and contributions of 'Father Zimbabwe' to a free Zimbabwe.
Ambassador Khaya Moyo, who himself worked closely with the late 'Father Zimbabwe' from the struggle to independence, chronicled the former Vice President's heroic exploits.
The book's author Senamile Nkomo who is the late Dr Nkomo's nephew says the icon's desire was to see people appreciating themselves through their cultural strength.
Launched in the capital this Friday, the book entitled: 'Joshua Nkomo: Father Zimbabwe: The Life and Times of an African Legend', has been described as gap filler which acknowledges the late nationalist as the father of Zimbabwe.
The book has been described by reviewers and critics as an important preservation of the life of Dr Nkomo and a must read for younger generations who must know the bloody revolution the nation went through to attain independence.
