The Zanu-PF aligned ZBC claims that MDC-T Provincial Chairman, Mr Gorden Moyo today (Sunday) attended a Zanu-PF rally that took place in Makokoba.
Mr Moyo joined senior Zanu-PF officials at a rally to drum up support for Zanu-PF candidate, Retired Colonel Tshinga Dube who is vying for a seat as a member of the House of Assembly.
The MDC-T chairman was seen with Zanu-PF Politburo members, Angeline Masuku, Retired Colonel Dube and Central Committee member, Molly Mpofu, among scores of Zanu-PF supporters at Makokoba grounds.
Moyo, who is also the Minister of State Enterprises and Parastatals, was the only candidate in the MDC-T Makokoba constituency.
There has been smear campaigns on Moyo by the State media of late. At some point, the State media once alleged that Moyo has been 'ditched' by his party from contesting in the MDC-T primaries because Makokoba was reserved for female candidates.
Moyo hit back at the state media saying: "Contrary to the sewage and the trash that is flowing out of the Herald newspaper this man was endorsed by the national council of our movement, as the candidate for Makokoba constituency."
Masuku and Retired Colonel Dube officiated at the rally.
Following the nomination of candidates last week, the country is in an election mood as political parties campaign for their candidates.
It is unusual for senior party officials to abandon their party campaigns and spend time in rallies of other parties.
In an interview, Retired Colonel Dube said as much as he was surprised to see the MDC-T chairman at his rally, Zanu-PF is ready to accept him as a member.
