Zapu facing financial problems

ZAPU will not be able to reach out to every corner of the country in its campaigns ahead of the 31 July harmonised elections as the party is struggling to raise funds for the programme.
In an interview yesterday, Zapu president Dr Dumiso Dabengwa said his party was facing a serious shortage of funds to cover the entire country in its campaign programmes.
"As Zapu, we have deployed our teams on the ground to mobilise support ahead of the elections, but we will not be able to cover all parts of the country because of challenges in terms of resources," he said.
However, because of inadequate resources, the Zapu president would only be able to address rallies in Masvingo and Chitungwiza to drum up support for his party.
Dr Dabengwa, a former Zipra intelligence supremo broke away from Zanu-PF in 2008.
