Cops nabbed for extortion

Two detectives stationed at Bulawayo Central Police Station were on Tuesday arrested for allegedly extorting R80 000 from two gold dealers.
The officers, identified as Detective Sergeants Godfrey Moyo and Moses Taruva, reportedly took the money from Mr Aleck Zikhali and Mr Jabulani Gwizi on Sunday.
They allegedly threatened the pair with a gun and were given the money.
Taruva had reportedly bought a car from his share of the loot at the time of his arrest arrest.
The detectives are expected to appear in court soon. contacted for comment, Criminal Investigations Department (CID) spokesperson Detective Sergeant Zodwa Chiduwuro said she was still waiting for details regarding the case.
