Breaking News: Bulawayo councillors have been sworn in

The 29 councillors were sworn in by the Town Clerk Mr Middleton Nyoni in terms of Section 47 (3) of the Urban Councils Act chapter 29:15, in the council chambers.

The city's provincial administrator, Mrs Khonzani Ncube presided over the ceremony.

The new council has seven female councillors, compared to the last one that had two.

Councillors are now sitting down to; elect a mayor in terms of Section 277 of the new constitution and his deputy in terms of Section 103 (1) (a)- (c) of the act.
