POLICE will be out in full force before, during and after the epic battle between Highlanders and Dynamos set for Barbourfields Stadium tomorrow.
Acting Bulawayo police spokesperson Bhekinkosi Ndlovu said police details would monitor roads leading to the stadium as well as major entry roads into the city.
"We want to discourage motorists and football fans from doing stunts on the roads.
"Passengers should sit calmly in vehicles instead of sitting on windows.
"There will be checkpoints on roads leading to the match venue as well and we would like to urge the football community to co-operate with the police as this is meant to ensure their own safety," said Ndlovu.
The police spokesperson said there would be searches at the stadium to weed out dangerous items like knives, bottles, beer as well as suspicious looking flags that have big poles.
"Supporters who are visibly or suspiciously drunk will not be allowed entry into the stadium.
"As police we are also discouraging our football supporters against singing derogatory songs that might incite violence as well as changing of bays during halftime," said Ndlovu.
