TWO fugitives wanted in South Africa for theft involving $2 728, €2 345 and R60 000 appeared in the Bulawayo Magistrates' Court last Friday on theft charges.
Lutha Sibanda (54) and Lingiwe Moyo (50), both of Mbamba area in Tsholotsho, were not asked to plead to theft charges when they appeared before magistrate Gladmore Mushove who remanded them in custody to November 8.
The court heard that the two are wanted in South Africa for a case of theft which occurred in Sandston on July 5.
It is alleged that they stole an assortment of jewellery and cash from their employer Ekatarini Kyriaton.
They reportedly skipped the country after committing the crime, but were arrested by local police after the South African police issued a warrant of arrest against them.
The State wants the two extradited to South Africa to face theft charges and the court is yet to determine on the move.
