A South African national has been hauled before courts for overstaying his visitor's permit.
Sudhoowa Zaakir, 30, appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Gladmore Mushowe facing charges of unauthorised stay Zimbabwe.
He pleaded guilty and was fined R1 000. Zaakir who is out of custody was given 30 days to pay the fine.
The State alleges that on November 11 detectives from the Joshua Nkomo Border Control Unit were tipped that Zaakir was in Bulawayo and had no valid visitor's permit.
Detectives launched a manhunt for Zaakir and finally intercepted him at some offices in the city's central business district.
The court further heard that Zaakir failed to produce a visitor's or residence permit when he was asked to do so.
Further investigations indicated that he came to the country about a year ago, later went back to South Africa and returned without authorisation by jumping the border.
Zaakir had no right to enter or remain in the country without a valid visitors permit.
