A KALAWA Jazzmee invasion is expected to turn Bulawayo's Queens Sports Club into a massive celebration of house and kwaito music when the third annual "Home Coming Party" explodes into life on 27 December.
A total of 12 artistes from Oscar "Oskido" Mdlongwa's stable have confirmed participation at the gig and they include the house maestro himself Oskido, Doctor Malinga, Professor, DJ Zinhle, Uhuru, Candy and Pepsi.
Local artistes Tony Digital, Defined House, Diliza and Dodo will be joined by South Africa-based local star, Berita Khumalo.
In an interview, show co-ordinator Vusumuzi Siqalaba said this year's party would be better than past events.
"This is the third time we are hosting the event and we have learnt from past mistakes. This year's gig will be the best we have ever had and fans should look forward to it," he said.
Siqalaba said due to the number of artistes expected to perform, the concert could begin early on Friday and end the next day.
"Tickets for the show will be on sale soon and fans that will buy VVIP tickets will have a chance to mix and mingle with the artistes," he said.
The South African contingent will be expected in the country in the early hours of 27 December before taking to the stage in what has been billed as "the mother of all shows."
"The show will probably be the last in this year's entertainment calendar and we expect those in the Diaspora to be in the country that is why we called it the Home Coming Party," said Siqalaba.
He said fans should not worry about security issues as there would be tight security to ensure the safety of revellers. The show has been held since 2010 and it provides a platform for local residents to celebrate life with their loved ones that would have spent the year in foreign lands.
"The concert provides an opportunity for local residents to come and celebrate the end of the year. We all have reason to celebrate and this will be the chance to do so," said Siqalaba.
