A BULAWAYO man beat his four-year-old daughter with an electric cord because she could not count the number of drawers in the family's lounge.
The man (29) of Richmond suburb was arrested for assaulting his daughter for also failing to count from one up to five.
Yesterday, he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Ms Gladmore Mushove charged with contravening a section of the Child Protection and Adoption Act.
He was remanded in custody to 6 December.

He went on to assault her on her left palm five times.
The court also heard that on 20 November at around 8am, the accused asked the complainant to count the number of drawers in the cupboard and she failed.
