'Bulawayo turns 120 years next year'

The City of Bulawayo will be turning 120 years on Tuesday, 1st June 2014. The City last held Centenary celebrations (100 years) in 1994 and various activities were held to commemorate the City's celebrations.
It has been a practice in the past celebrations to organize functions or entertainment in the City to mark the anniversary celebrations in order to engender a befitting status of the City of Kings.
The City Council is inviting all interested creative persons to design a logo for the 120 years anniversary of the founding of Bulawayo as a Modern settlement.
The selected logo will be used as the icon for the anniversary celebrations and will be used as the official logo for all programmed activities.
Organizations and individuals who would like to be part of the celebrations are requested to submit their written proposals to the Town Clerk, P O Box 591, Bulawayo by Friday, 20th December 2013 or email tcdept@citybyo.co.zw; nmpofu@citybyo.co.zw or hand deliver to the Town Clerk's Reception, Office 126, City Hall.
