A MAGWEGWE man died instantly after being electrocuted when he sat on a live tower light cable just outside Induba Primary School in Pelandaba yesterday.

The man had reportedly come from church with fellow congregants to watch a soccer match at the school.

An eyewitness said the man sat on a live wire cable connected to the tower light and he was electrocuted.

"They came here as a church team to practise for a soccer tournament to be held in South Africa next month," said the eyewitness.

"They sat under the tower light to put on their kit. He sat on a naked tower light cable and was electrocuted and died instantly.

"People called an ambulance, but the crew pronounced him dead and called the police who took his body to mortuary."
Police were not immediately available for comment.
