BCC blockade roads close to Joshua Nkomo statue

The Bulawayo City Council has blockaded the roads close to the Joshua Nkomo statue and created space for a pedestrian mall that began operating yesterday and will run up to January 4 2014.
The area is situated between 9th Avenue and L.Takawira Avenue and Main Street and Fife Street.
The move is allow residents to view the statue of the late Vice President Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo.
"People will be allowed to perform at the mall in honour of the legendary late nationalist.
"Culture groups will also come and perform at the temporary mall in remembrance of Father Zimbabwe," Hadebe said of the Joshua Nkomo National Foundation.
The statue is due to be unveiled by Robert Mugabe on December 22.
Several deadlines for its unveiling has been missed.
