A 28-YEAR-OLD Old Pumula man committed suicide on Monday by hanging himself in his bedroom after a heated argument with a cousin over $80.
Eyewitnesses said Melusi Dube was owed $80 by a cousin and the problem started when he arrived home from Nyamandlovu where he operates a shop.
Dube first had a heated argument with his cousin over the money.
The two fought close to the Old Pumula shopping centre in the morning in full view of vendors and other passers-by.
Dube left the shops and went home where he locked himself in a bedroom and hanged himself.
A family spokesperson said it was hard for them to come to terms with what had transpired and were still in shock.
The spokesperson said the family was yet to speak to the cousin Dube fought with to obtain details on the matter because they were still in shock.
