A Bulawayo woman is demanding hefty maintenance from father of 69 children and husband of 12A polygamous Kwekwe businessman proved that he is not only good at acquiring wealth but is also a love master who adores nature's grandest occassion since the fertility God said "go forth and multiply".
The super dad in question,Peter Remi Gore (61) who is a senior member of the salvation Army Church was hauled to court last week by one of his baby mamas.
Gore is believed to own properties in and around Kwekwe. He appeared before magistrate Victor Mpofu where he had been dragged by one of his wives, Sethekele Gore (53) from Mpopoma in Bulawayo who was claiming an order for a decree of divorce. The woman claimed that her marriage to the businessman had irretrievably broken down to the extent that there were no reasonable prospects of a reconciliation.
As a result of her concerns, Sethekeli alleged that she had lost love and affection to her polygamous husband. The woman has seven children with the business mogul and they are all majors.
Sethekeli said her husband is so violent and any misunderstanding that ensues usually results in violence. For that reason, she was demanding a personal maintenance of US$1,150 until she dies or remarries, which ever comes first. She was further demanding US$1,950 after every three months for her welfare and upkeep, according to her founding affidavit.
Responding to the claims, Peter's lawyer said his client was capable of taking care of his wife and that he loved her so much despite having 11 other wives. The lawyer said Sethekeli and her husband were fighting over a minor issue which can easily be solved.
The woman, however, was sobbing throughout the court session and maintained that she has had enough of her husband.
"Your Worship, all I want is for you to grant me a degree of divorce. I am no longer interested in the relationship despite Peter's vast wealth which he claims to be pampering me with. All I want is peace in my life," she said.
The matter was deferred to 17 February and the parties were referred for counselling before the court can make a determination.
"By order of the court, both parties are advised to go for counselling at the expense of the respondent either at Contact family Services of Musasa project. I will need a report on the sessions. This case has been postponed to 17 February," said the magistrate.
