Binga shooting, suspect's arrested for cannabis

THE wife of Robert Muleya, one of the suspects in the Binga shooting incident has been arrested after she was found in possession of 90 grammes of cannabis (mbanje).
Muleya is one of the four suspects linked to the alleged brutal killing of four people from Bulawayo in a suspected "botched ivory deal" in Binga early this month.
His wife, Yvonne, 23 appeared before Binga magistrate, Stephen Ndhlovu on Tuesday on charges of possessing mbanje. She admitted possessing the mbanje but said it belonged to her husband.
"Your Honour, I cannot deny that the mbanje was found at my homestead but it belongs to my husband," said Yvonne.
Muleya said she was not aware that there was mbanje at their homestead until detectives conducted a search leading to the discover y of the drug.
Detectives conducted a thorough search of Muleya's bedroom following the arrest of her husband in connection with the murder case and recovered 90 grammes of mbanje.
Muleya has since been remanded out of custody to February, 5. Bruce Maphosa appeared for the State.
