Man rapes aunt to teach her a lesson

A 25-year-old Bulilima man allegedly raped his aunt (35) to teach her a lesson after he accused her of misleading his girlfriend.

Bekithemba Ndebele of Makhulela 2 area, Madlambuzi allegedly rendered his aunt unconscious by striking her on the head with an iron bar before raping her once.

He appeared before Plumtree Magistrate, Livard Philimon on initial remand facing a charge of rape.

The prosecutor, Paul Mpofu told the court that on 16 January, Ndebele forced his way into the complainant's homestead while she was alone.
He struck her with an iron bar on the head and dragged her into a nearby bush and raped her once.

Said Mpofu; "The accused proceeded to the complainant's house at about10pm. He knocked on the window and told the complainant that he was looking for his girlfriend. The complainant told him that she did not know the girlfriend was."

"This angered the accused person who accused the complainant of misleading his girlfriend out of jealousy."

Mpofu said Ndebele forced open the door to the complainant's bedroom before dragging her out, hitting her and raping her. The complainant made a report on the following day leading to the arrest of the accused person."

Ndebele was remanded in custody to 31 January.
