A National University of Science and Technology (Nust) student was robbed of his $400 laptop by two sex workers he had invited to church for a foursome.
Gumbodete Prosper Tendekai reportedly invited two ladies of the night and friend to the Anglican Church in Riverside, Bulawayo.
The two hookers reportedly seized Tendekai's HP630 laptop and sold it for $100 after he had failed to pay them $50 each as promised.
According to court records, Tendekai had met the duo on November 3 last year at Club Forty 40 in Bulawayo. On January 24 he then saw the two women at Waverly Night Club and called the police, leading to their arrest.
The two hookers, Truedy Mpofu, 22, and Viola Vanessa Chikore, 19, both from Mpopoma appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Gladmore Mushove and were sentenced to six months in prison each for theft.
Magistrate Mushove suspended three months on condition that they perform 105 hours of community service at Western Commonage Court.
The remaining three months were also suspended on condition that the two indemnify $200 each to Tendekai for his laptop valued at $400.
