A SUSPECTED rapist shocked a Bulawayo court on Friday when he said he was attracted to a 14-year-old juvenile's big breasts, which enticed him to rape her.
"I slept with her because her breasts appeared to be those of a 16-year-old Your Worship," said an 18-year-old man from Kensington suburb.
The man, who could not be named to protect the victim, appeared before magistrate Abednico Ndebele on charges of having sex with a minor, who is doing Grave Seven.
"Your Honour I never intended to break the law in anyway. I thought she was 16 judging from her big breasts. I therefore saw no problem sleeping with her since she was my girlfriend," said the man.
The Chronicle reports that Magistrate Ndebele remanded him out of custody to February 14. The State alleges that on January 12 the complainant together with her two elder sisters went to sleep over at her grandmother's place, a few metres from their home as the grandmother had travelled to Harare.
The three girls departed from their father's house at around 9PM and while on their way, they were accompanied by three boys who included the complainant's sisters' boyfriends.
When they arrived at their grandmother's house, the complainant's sisters slept with their boyfriends and her eldest sister told her to sleep with the accused.
She refused but the accused threatened to beat her up and she agreed. In the middle of the night, the accused who works with complainant's father, woke up and removed his trousers and raped the girl before giving her $1.
