Woman sues Godern Moyo for maintenance

A Bulawayo woman is demanding $80 from her boyfriend Godern Moyo for the upkeep of his one-year-old daughter.

Viola Sansole of Mahatshula told Bulawayo Magistrate Victor Mpofu that Moyo, a tout, had neglected his daughter since the day she was born.

She said he preferred to use his money on beer and other women.

Moyo in his defence said touts did not make as much money as people thought.

He said the $80 was too much for him as he made about $5 a day.

He offered to pay $30 dollars arguing that he had other responsibilities to take care of.

Magistrate Mpofu ordered Moyo to pay $50 monthly with effect from end of March, 2014.
