'No money for Matabeleland Zambezi Water Project'

Saviour Kasukuwere, minister of Water, yesterday admitted that there was no money for the Matabeleland Zambezi Water Project (MZWP) which aims to supply water to Bulawayo city.
Responding to a question by Jasmie Toffa, MDC-T MP for Bulawayo Metropolitan on the MZWP timeframe, Kasukuwere said he was not going to make a political statement to get support from people in Bulawayo on the water situation as there was no money for the project.
Kasukuwere was speaking at a legislators' workshop on government's economic blueprint ZimAsset.
The project seeks to end the perennial water shortages bedevilling Zimbabwe's second largest city, Bulawayo, by bringing water from the mighty Zambezi river.
