A worker at National Foods Limited in Bulawayo has allegedly been killed by other workers.
Domingo Ndlovu was crushed by more than 15 tonnes of maize grain when his two unnamed workmates allegedly deliberately opened a maize release valve at the bottom of a trolley in which he was working.
Ndlovu was sucked down towards the valve and his feet protruded through it as the maize crushed him.
The company allegedly tried to cover up the death saying it was a freak accident that happened when a worker accidentally released the valve, when he was working.
He said the family had seen a video of the incident, captured by security cameras at National Foods
"He never fell asleep and the video shows his two friends checking no one was watching, before deliberately releasing the valve, seconds after he spoke to them," said Ndlovu.
He said the family was waiting for justice.
National Foods human resources manager, Lloyd Chidana could not be reached for comment.Bulawayo acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Joshua Ndlovu confirmed the incident and said police were still investigating.
