A BULAWAYO woman got the shock of her life when she caught her neighbour raping her 14-year-old daughter in a toilet outside her house.
Perlius Sibanda, 19, of Old Magwegwe appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Willard Maphios Moyo on initial remand charged with raping the girl, a Form Three pupil at a local school.
Prosecutors say on March 12, around 11:40PM, the girl's mother went to the toilet to check her daughter who was complaining of stomach pains and frequented the rest room.
Upon pushing the door of the toilet, she realised that there was someone pushing it from inside. She called her daughter's name and she replied.
The woman then pushed the door harder and opened it only for her to see Sibanda zipping his trousers and her daughter busy trying to put on her underwear.
Sibanda tried to apologise for having sexual intercourse with the woman's daughter but she would not have any of it. The woman went to Sibanda's parents and told them what she had seen.
The matter was reported to police and Sibanda was arrested. Mafaro Mageza represented the State.
Sibanda was remanded out of custody on $200 bail to April 10.
