A Bulawayo woman whose boyfriend shoved a cooking stick into her private parts yesterday told the Bulawayo regional court that he did it to "measure" how she was sexually involved with other men as he accused her of being a prostitute.
This was heard when Philani Ndlovu (24) of Mpopoma appeared before regional magistrate Colet Ncube facing a charge of aggravated indecent assault.
Ndlovu denied the charges, but Ncube remanded him out of custody to April 2 when the State is expected to call witnesses to testify in the case. In her State-led evidence, the woman, who cannot be named to protect her identity, told the court that Ndlovu arrived at her house in Newton West suburb at around lunch time on Christmas Day last year.
He allegedly sat in the lounge before carrying her to the bedroom and placing her on the bed. She alleged that Ndlovu then lifted her leg and rested the foot on his shoulder while pressing the other one on the bed.
"He said he wanted to examine how I was having sex with a police boyfriend. He removed my panties before he took a cooking stick saying he wanted to see how deep I was since he accused me of sleeping with another man. He shoved the cooking stick in and removed it. I saw him checking like he was measuring and again shoved it in about three times. He ordered me to do sexual moves like I was doing with another man, but I did not," she said.
She said he left and returned in the evening threatening to kill her.
The woman told the court that she fled to her aunt's place and only returned to her house two months ago after being advised to report the matter to the police. In his defence Ndlovu said he was nowhere near her place on the day in question.
He said the woman only reported him after he threatened to inform her husband who works in South Africa that she was involved in an extramarital affair.
Ndlovu said he had found her with another man and at some point broke the door of the house while fighting with her. He said he later found out that she had a husband working in South Africa and threatened to tell him about the affair.
The woman has an 18-month old child with her South Africa-based husband but she told the court that they separated when she fell in love with Ndlovu.
