I was not hiding - Welshman Ncube

MDC leader Welshman Ncube says he has not been hiding but strategising in his rural home after his party's disastrous performance in last year's elections.

Speaking at the Bulawayo Press Club, Ncube said he was shocked to hear that he had gone on a sabbatical.

"I read with interest in the media when I was referred to as a hermit, that I had fled to my rural home and had grown a big grey beard," Ncube said.

"I was never a hermit, our position was very clear that we could not continue doing the same things over and over again.

We had no time to complain about election theft."

Ncube said his party had covered the length and breadth of the country when others were not interested in campaigning.

"I was reading im my hibernation and learnt that these things happen when political parties fail to communicate on the issues affecting the people," Ncube said.

"We have been researching on the issue and as we re strategise we will keep these things in mind."

Ncube called for a convention of political parties with a spirit of 1999 to unseat Zanu PF.
