POLICE in Bulawayo have arrested five suspects in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 25-year-old man at a party in Emakhandeni last weekend.
Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Mandlenkosi Moyo said the suspects were arrested following a tip-off from members of the public.
"The police arrested five suspects in connection with the murder in Emakhandeni after a tip-off from members of the public. They were taken to court today (yesterday)," said Moyo.
"We are grateful to the information provided by members of the public and we appeal for more information in identifying criminals who commit heinous crimes," he said.
Ayibongwe Ncube (25) died at his aunt's house near Maunga shopping centre after arriving around 11pm on Saturday night unable to talk and oozing blood from a stab wound in the head.
His aunt Ntokozo Ndlovu said Ncube, who had visited her for the weekend, had left home to attend a party in the neighbourhood earlier on Saturday evening.
According to Ndlovu, Ncube was well known in the suburb as he had stayed at her house while she was still based in South Africa.
