Bulawayo residents have expressed concern over the increase in cases of murder after 15 people were reportedly murdered in the city in a space of three weeks.
There are indications that most of the cases of murder emanate from domestic violence and residents who spoke to the ZBC said it is disheartening to note that people's lives are being lost over issues that can be resolved amicably by parties concerned.
They urged the church to play an active role in teaching people how to live in harmony particularly, married couples.
Some said the high unemployment rate among the youths largely attributed to the de-industrialisation of the city might be the reason why there is an upsurge of criminal activities including murder.
Bulawayo has over the last five years seen the closure of more than 60 companies which has left close to 60 thousand people jobless.
Over the last month, Bulawayo has witnessed a surge in cases of murder which have largely been attributed to domestic violence. In most of the cases, the weapon used by the perpetrators was the knife.
