A 49-YEAR-OLD woman from New Lobengula high-density suburb was forced to spend the night in the toilet by her husband after she came home late from an unsanctioned outing with a friend.
It is reported that Sithembile Hadebe on Friday last week, courted her husband, Mvelo Hadebe's anger, when she came home late from her friend's farewell party where she had gone without notifying him.
Speaking to B-Metro, Sithembile said she did not go to her parents' residence because she feared that her husband would suspect that she would have gone to a boyfriend's place.
"I had a nightmarish experience on Friday last week when I slept in the toilet after my husband denied me access into the bedroom. This was after I came home late from my friend's farewell party.
"When my husband asked me to leave the house I refused, leading me to stay put in the toilet. This is so because I was afraid that if I leave the house he would suspect that I had gone to a boyfriend," she said.
Sithembile said her toilet did not pose any harm to her health as it is always clean.
As if sleeping in the toilet was not enough for Sithembile, her husband bashed her.
"He beat me up with fists and open hands accusing me of cheating on him. I braved the beating to save my marriage".
Contacted for comment, Hadebe confirmed the incident but said he could not furnish more details since it was a marital problem.
"Yes, what you heard is true, it was.just a minor incident and it is now water under the bridge. I cannot divulge my marital problems to the Press," he said before he hung up his mobile phone.
