MDC-T factions on edge over Gorden Moyo

MDC-T factions are at the edge of the seat over Makokoba legislator and Bulawayo party provincial chairperson Gorden Moyo as he has not come out clean on which group he will join after the end of his sabbatical on June 1.
Moyo who is touted as vital for both factions' strength because of his links to civic society groups, took a sabbatical, ostensibly to concentrate on his studies in March, but the timing was questionable as it was when the party's ship had hit the iceberg over a letter penned by suspended deputy treasurer-general Elton Mangoma, calling for the stepping down of MDC-T president.

in Bulawayo province have been pushing for the ouster of Moyo over suspicions that he is linked to the Tendai Biti-led faction, but the party's deputy president Thokozani Khuphe has come out in his defence.
Moyo apparently has chosen to remain mum on his plans until his sabbatical is over leaving both MDC-T factions waiting patiently for him, with the hope that he would join their faction.
In a telephone interview yesterday, the leadership renewal spokesperson Jacob Mafume said Moyo had kept them waiting for June 1 2014 to communicate his position, expressing hope that he would join them.
"He should be coming to join us but you never know with these things. We will wait until he says he will come to join us. So I think let's wait for him to speak," he said.
Albert Mhlanga, who is the Tsvangirai faction organising secretary for Bulawayo province, said it has been difficult to tell what course of action Moyo would take as he blatantly maintained that he was still on leave.
"He has told me time and again ukuthi 'lokho sizakubona mhlaka June 1' (we will discuss that on the 1st of June) so until then we will have to wait. We cannot do or say something about him when at the end of the day he might come and say I have got a job in the United Kingdom," he said.
Moyo has also shied away from media attention ostensibly to avoid making any comments on the party's factions, thereby being linked to any of the factions.
He has since changed his mobile number.
