ZiFM will honour one of Zimbabwe's finest talents Lovemore "Maji" Majaivana during its Bulawayo Top Ten Charts on Saturday as the City of Kings and Queens gears up for its 120th anniversary.

Majaivana's hit track Umoya Wami is set to be introduced to the weekly Bulawayo Top Ten Charts on ZiFM's Saturday zone "your link to the City of Kings and queens" by DJ Gibson Ncube.

Speaking to Southern Eye Lifestyle in an interview, Ncube said it's a perfect time to honour the great musician as Bulawayo celebrates its 120 years anniversary.

"As Bulawayo gears up to celebrate 120 years I have decided to honour Majaivana by introducing one of his songs Umoya Wami to the charts. I am introducing this song as a future hit prediction because its content is still relevant today as we look back and celebrate our city's history and legacy why not recognise Majaivana and celebrate with him?" he said.

Ncube added that people can vote for the track into the top 10 through WhatsApp and Facebook voting platforms.

"Today's artistes should look up to people like Majaivana. The main thing is relevance and creating demand for their music because until now people still call for Majaivana to release another album and they still want to see him perform live. Fans still play, love and sing along to his music. He was not just a one-hit wonder. That's the beauty of being a talented musician compared to some artistes who are chancers," Ncube added.

Born Lovemore Tshuma, the musician was named Majaivana through his nimble footedness during his career. Majaivana loosely means a great dancer.

The United States-based artiste has successful albums under his belt such as Salanini Zinini, Jazi Manikiniki, Isono Sami and Isitimela.
