The MDC-T councillor for Ward 7, Makokoba, James Sithole and the party's secretary for Makokoba district, Cornelias Nyatsanga were also arraigned before Magistrate Msipa yesterday for contravening the Public Order and Security Act (Posa) after they allegedly organised a local public meeting without notifying the authorities.
The state alleges that on May 23 2014 Nyatsanga booked Tshaka Youth Centre in Makokoba to hold an MDC-T District meeting on the following day between 1000 and 1400hrs.
On May 24 at around 1000hrs Sithole ordered that the main gate at Tshaka Youth Centre be opened so that members of the public could easily enter the venue of the meeting.
The meeting allegedly went ahead despite the fact that the two accused persons did not notify the regulating authority to hold such a public gathering.
Sithole and Nyatsanga were released on $100 bail each and the matter was remanded to June 13 2014.
