AN injiva got the shock of his life when he returned home from South Africa after five years to find his wife with two more children with another man.
Clever Hlanganise's former wife Jemina Sibanda, had more in store for him after she took him to the maintenance court demanding $100 from him for their child together who is eight.
Hlanganise told magistrate Victor Mpofu that on his return home recently due to illness, he came face to face with his wife's alleged infidelity.
"I have been working hard doing piece jobs and suffering for the past five years trying to make ends meet. The only reason I came back home is because I am not feeling well, not knowing it was a blessing in disguise," he said.
"I found her with two children from another man. I am hurt because I don't even know how many children I have been taking care of that do not belong to me."
Sibanda shot back at Hlanganise and accused him of being an irresponsible father.
"You're not as innocent as you want the magistrate to believe. You were not taking care of your child while you were in South Africa. I am facing arrest from the police because of non-payment of school fees," she said.
Sibanda alleged that Hlanganise also had a child out of wedlock. She claimed that her husband has found a job at a mine in Gwanda and has a girlfriend whom he pays rent for.
Magistrate Mpofu ordered Hlanganise to pay Sibanda $70 per month for the child starting this month end. He advised the couple to avoid washing their dirty linen in public.
"I advise you to settle your personal issues before you come to court. I am only concerned about the welfare of the child you have together," said the magistrate.
